Harry Styles poses for legendary artist David Hockney – who had no idea who the singer was
HARRY Styles heads up David Hockney’s new exhibition — despite the artist not knowing how big a star he was when he painted him.
The One Direction singer sat down to pose for the art great in May last year.
David, 86, said: “I wasn’t really aware of his celebrity then.
“He was just another person who came to the studio.”
But having done the painting he is much more familiar with the singer’s back catalogue.
He added: “Now I know Harry’s a celebrity, though — I’ve seen all his music videos.”

Harry, 29, is delighted by the portrait for which he spent two days sitting at David’s studio in Normandy in France.
It shows him wearing jeans and a striped orange and red cardigan, relaxing in a cane chair.
He said: “David Hockney has been reinventing the way we look at the world for decades. It was a complete privilege to be painted by him.”
Harry’s artwork will kick off the reprise of the National Portrait Gallery’s Hockney exhibition, Drawing From Life.
