'MR BUSHTUCKER TRIAL'

I’m a Celebrity’s Adam Thomas lives up to his groaning reputation as he tackles 20 SPIDERS in his final bushtucker trial

ADAM Thomas has become the self-proclaimed Mr Bushtucker Trial - but he met his match when he was forced to go face-to-face with TWENTY spiders tonight.

The Emmerdale hunk has already completed ten trials during his three week stint in the jungle - but it appears eleven is his unlucky number when a fishbowl was attached around his head and thousands of critters got dropped in with him.

Adam was delighted to be in the final and said to Ant and Dec: “I would love to go all the way but I doubt that’s going to happen.

"I’m just looking forward to getting a drink down me, seeing the family and making some sweet, sweet loving - that’s what I’m looking forward to the most.’’

The presenters explained to Adam, who was facing his 11th trial, that he would be taking part in the jungle classic – Fill Your Face.

He had to put his head in a clear helmet and it was filled with critters; for each minute he endured he would win five stars which would convert to three starters plus a drink and a treat, all courses contributed towards the lavish banquet.

A bucket load of mealworms were the first visitors to Adam’s face, followed by 3,000 crickets and then 3,000 cockroaches. Adam groaned in sufferance: “What’s my name boys?”

“Mr Buchtucker Trial!” said Ant and Dec. For his third minute in the helmet Adam was joined by ten giant burrowing cockroaches. For his fourth star, 10 scorpions and 10 millipedes were poured in while the others crawled over his face and into his hair.

With three starters and a drink won, Adam faced his biggest fear of spiders when 20 of them were dropped in for his final minute. “I knew it,” he mumbled while trying not to open his mouth.

“Come on Mr Bushtucker Trial,” Ant said to encourage him. As he completed the time, Adam opened the helmet to release himself and Dec said: “That absolutely stinks.”

As he jumped around trying to get the critters off of him he said: “It was so bad in there, I could hardly breathe. I did it! I knew you were going to put spiders into the last trial.”

Fans were quick to react to his usual groans, as one tweeted: "@adamthomas21 actually cracks me up."

This isn't the first time that Adam has been forced to confront his fear during the trials over the last three weeks.

In his first task, before it had even begun, the star was nearly reduced to tears in the arms of Joel Dommett after he spotted a spider in the corner of the shack - making him a prime target for the viewers at home who nominated him to do several more trials against his will.

However, by the time he performed the vomit-inducing Pick and Critz, he managed to hold one of the creepy crawlies in his mouth last week for thirty seconds.

Will he be able to tackle the last trial and beat his fear for good?

Meanwhile, fellow finalist Scarlett Moffatt faces her fear of confined spaces and breaks down in tears as she's locked inside a cave as part of her final trial.

, the third finalist in tonight's show, is forced to face the least enviable challenge of all - the gruelling eating challenge.

Catch I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, tonight on ITV1, followed by Extra Camp on ITV2.
