IT appears that Christmas really is the season of love - for Call The Midwife star Victoria Yeates, who got engaged to her boyfriend while filming the xmas special of the show.
Victoria, who plays Sister Winnifred in the BBC drama, has revealed that her musician boyfriend jetted off to see her in South Africa while she was filming with the rest of the cast.
The pair had been on safari that day and were travelling back from Inverdoorn Game Reserve, near Cape Town when Paul Housden surprised her with the proposal.
Speaking to the , Victoria, 32, said that they had stopped off at a "beautiful little cafe" when her boyfriend asked her a photo by some mountains.
She revealed: "He was taking his time but it was just because he was getting the guts to propose.
"I ended up saying, ‘Enough. No more photos!’ And he said, ‘I’ve got a question to ask.’ I said, ‘What is it?’ I was scared that if we stayed in the area too long, baboons would come, you see. And that’s when he said, ‘Will you marry me?’"
Victoria admitted that she had started "laughing and crying" because she was so shocked - but did say yes.
The pair then went and told the rest of the cast.

She also revealed that they were filming vaccination programme scenes there: "It was awful. I felt badly affected by it."
The Christmas special will see all bar Miranda Hart returning, set in 1962.
It will be set in 1962 and will have guest star Sinead Cusack joining as Dr Myra Fitzsimmons, the woman in charge of Hope Clinic.
Miranda Hart had confirmed that she will not be returning for the new series in August.
Producers had previously said that the 43-year-old would be reprising her role as Camilla “Chummy” However the much in-demand star says that she can’t fit it into her schedule.
Delivering the blow on Twitter, she wrote: “News: It’s with a heavy heart that having shared Chummy’s return to CTM, I’ve not been able to birth (pun) the schedule to make it work.”
