SINEAD O’Connor had been looking forward to writing new music and touring before her death, we can reveal.
Pals told how they were “blindsided” by her sudden passing at home on Wednesday.
Weeks earlier, the Nothing Compares 2 U singer, 56, had been tweeting about her new life in a £3,000-a-month apartment between Brixton and Herne Hill, South London.
She recently posted a video of her new home, showing off her Martin DX Johnny Cash black acoustic guitar.
In a final Facebook post on July 12, she wrote: “Hi all, recently moved back to London after 23 years absence. Very happy to be home. Soon finishing my album. Release early next year. Hopefully touring Australia and New Zealand toward end 2024. Europe, USA and other territories beginning early 2025.”
A source told The Sun: “Everything on the outside appeared to be going well for Sinead.

She tweeted: “Lost my 17yr Old Son To Suicide in 2022. Been living as undead night creature since. He was the love of my life, the lamp of my soul. We were one soul in two halves. He was the only person who ever loved me unconditionally. I am lost in the bardo without him.”
In an earlier video, on July 9, she said: “I look like s*** either way, which is why I didn’t want to make a video.

Police were called at 11.18am on Wednesday to reports of an unresponsive woman. The star was pronounced dead at the scene.
Neighbours revealed parcels had been stacking up outside the door.
Clyre Day, 71, who has lived on the road for 41 years, told The Sun: “She used to stand on the balcony and look out into the street. The lights were always on all through the night.
