Who is in the Reading and Leeds Festivals 2017 line-up? Dates, headliners, prices and ticket availability
THE READING and Leeds Festival team have have been teasing fans with what - and who - to expect at this year's musical extravaganza.
So who is on the line-up at today's event? Here's everything you need to know...
Who are this year's headliners for Reading and Leeds festivals?
Kasabian (Friday Reading / Saturday Leeds)
As the band hit their 20th year, Kasabian became the second group to announce their headlining slot at Reading and Leeds.
They previously headlined in 2012, but have been regulars at the festival since starting out in the smaller tents in 2004.
On the announcement, guitarist Serge Pizzorno told : "When we played in 2012 it was such a special honour because it was the first time we'd headlined a major festival. It was phenomenal. With these new tunes, it's going to be f***ing incredible!"
The band are currently working on new material that is rumoured to be released at some point this year.
Eminem (Saturday Reading / Sunday Leeds)
On February 24 it was confirmed that controversial rapper Eminem will be making a comeback to music with an appearance at Reading and Leeds.
It will be the first time the rapper has played the festival since 2013.
His hits include Lose Yourself, My Name Is, and Without Me - and his set-list could well include new material.
Muse (Sunday Reading / Friday Leeds)
Stadium rockers Muse lead the first line-up announcement for this year's festivities.
This will be the band's third time headlining the festival, and promise to be a sight to be seen after becoming known for their iconic and grand stage performances.
Matt Bellamy, the lead singer of the band, has promised that there will also be "more news" about their plans for 2017 on top of their slot
They have been billed as a European exclusive for the show - meaning this performance will be a must-see for all die hard fans of the band.
Who else is performing on the main stage this year's Reading and Leeds?
Major Lazer
After an incredible year hitting the charts with tracks including Lean On feat. MO, Cold Water feat. Justin Bieber and Light It Up feat Fuse ODG, Major Lazer are now bringing their dance anthems to this year's Reading and Leeds.
The American trio have been known as much loved artists for high A-Listers - with Beyonce sampling their track Pon De Floor for her feminist anthem Girls.
They have also become known for their light shows during performances - so it will be a spectacle to be seen.
Bastille
Indie pop group Bastille have become firm favourites for festivals - and this year's performance at Reading and Leeds will surely be no exception.
Their anthemic songs, including Pompeii and Things We Lost In The Fire, are sure to go down as treat with revellers as they continue to tour Europe beforehand.
They released their new album, Wild World, in January 2017, leading on their single Blame.
Liam Gallagher
The Manchester legend is supporting Muse on their days at the festival.
He is expected to perform a combination of his solo material and music from his time in bands Beady Eye and, of course, Oasis.
Tracks expected include Don't Look Back In Anger, which became the anthem for support for Manchester following the terror attacks earlier this year.
