I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here’s Joel Dommett says ‘sometimes you just get caught’ over intimate Skype sex tape leak
The star, 30, admitted he was tricked into filming the Skype video after chatting to a girl - unaware he was being catfished
I'M A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here's Joel Dommett has opened up about his leaked sex tape saying "sometimes you just get caught".
Speaking with his campmates about life in the public eye, the funnyman said the embarrassing incident could have happened to anyone.
Wayne Bridge asked Joel if he was concerned about the the attention he'll receive when he leaves the jungle but Joel wasn't worried.
He said: “We’re just all human beings and sometimes you just happen to get caught masturbating on the internet!”
Joel previously spoke to his campmates about the sex tape leak and admitted he was "catfished" by a girl he had been chatting to online, mistakenly believing they were having Skype sex - and described the horrific moment as a "porno Gogglebox".
The former Skins actor previously opened up about the leak during a camp discussion about revenge porn.
After Carol Vorderman and Joel both won the Dingo Dollar Challenge, they were offered a prize of sweets if the camp could correctly answer the question: "What percentage of men think that sending naked selfies to someone else is cheating? 53% or 64%
This prompted a debate on what was right and wrong about sending selfie pictures to someone else if you’re in a relationship.
“My belief is that there is no place for that, if that was my fella – bang, gone.” Sam Quek said.
Adam pushed for 64% as he felt it was cheating, while Lisa admitted: “I don’t think they do, I think they take pictures and then say ‘but I didn’t sleep with her’."
They eventually all agreed on 53% which was the correct answer.
Carol and Joel returned to camp with the jelly sweets still dressed in their outfits, and the debate continued.
As Wayne Bridge asked Adam if he’d ever taken a picture of his privates, both Adam and Jordan said no - but Joel felt compelled to speak up.
“Yes, it’s easy to find on the internet, I was catfished," he revealed.
“Basically someone messaged me online and after a while she said did you want SKYPE sex, so I was like yes, I was so naive.” Joel added.
He went on: “I messaged a few weeks later and she didn’t reply and then a few years later the video was released online, it was released about a week before I came in here.”
“Something to be proud of?” Martin asked.
“No, such a terrible angle.” Joel then joked.
“I thought I was having Skype sex with someone but it was actually a video and it turned out it was someone watching me, watching porn, a porno Gogglebox.” he explained.
Speaking about the scary time previously, Joel admitted he was tricked into filming the video after chatting to a girl who asked him on Twitter: “Joel, would you like to have Skype Sex?”
He told : “I thought for a second, then immediately typed… ‘Why not?!’.”
He claimed the woman then told him her microphone had broken, so she wouldn’t be able to speak to him – relying instead on visuals – which he agreed to.
He then added: “I messaged her afterwards. No reply. I messaged her the next day.No reply. I messaged her a week later. No reply.”
He went on: “So it turns out I wasn’t having Skype sex at all, instead someone was basically watching me watching porn. Like a perverted Goggle Box.”
Joel eventually tracked down the woman whose profile the Skype hacker had stolen, and they went on a few dates, before eventually separating.
