Meat Loaf insists he is not dying as he finally opens up about those health rumours
Even Katie Price thought he’d popped his clogs
MEAT Loaf has once again had to deny he’s dead or nearly dead.
The 69-year-old rock veteran has been plagued with health issues and rumours that he’s dying ever since he collapsed onstage in June, and has appeared in a number of interviews with slurred speech, with even Katie Price telling him she thought he had died.
However Meat Loaf hasn’t died, but he did have back surgery nearly two months ago to remove a cyst on his back – and he’s explained for the last time ever, just what the bat out of hell is going on.
“Listen, I am not dying. After three months of therapy I will be fine. I am sick of talking about it. I don’t want to talk about it from now on,” he said to The Mirror.
"And anyone else who asks me the question, I’m not going to respond to it.”
“I had MRIs and the doctors said I had a little cyst but that it had grown and was pushing against the nerves.
“But when the doctor opened up my back to remove it… it was almost like emergency surgery. There are now little nuts and bolts in there.”
The star shocked fans when he fell on stage in Canada just months ago, due to severe dehydration.
In November he appeared on This Morning and insisted his recent back surgery wasn’t connected to his stage fall in any way, and admitted it was his wife who persuaded him to perform, despite him suffering with flu at the time.
“All of a sudden I started feeling dizzy,” he said of the concert. “I thought ‘I don’t want to fall, so I’m just going to sit down’. As I was going down, I just went out. It was from dehydration.”
Later Katie Price told him on Loose Women that she thought he was a goner.
She said: “It wasn’t that long ago, it was a few weeks ago that I saw a clip where you collapsed on stage and I was mortified.
“I thought ‘oh my god what’s happened, has he died or something?’”
