SINGER Liam Payne once painted artist David Hockney — who now has the portrait hanging on his wall.
The 29-year-old former One Direction star discovered a passion for art while in a US wellness clinic last year.
He was introduced to Hockney, 86, through one of the Yorkshire-born artist’s relatives.
Speaking about his time at the centre, Liam said: “There was a short part of it where I started to draw a little bit.
“I got to meet David Hockney, which was amazing.
"I got to know him through his great-nephew.

"I remember him saying to me, ‘You should meet David — he will probably want to draw you’.
“I said, ‘Well I will draw him’. I don’t know what possessed me to say I am going to draw one of the highest-selling artists alive today but I did draw him and this actually gave me a massive leap in confidence.
“It is actually up now, I think, in his house.
"It is one of the coolest moments I would say of my career so far — at least of my art career. Jesus!”

The singer spent 100 days in a wellness clinic in the US last year after hitting rock bottom.
The 29-year-old said he no longer recognised himself after lashing out at everyone around him as he struggled to navigate life post-One Direction.
During his time in the Louisiana centre, which specialises in helping people deal with past trauma, he was cut off from the outside world after handing in his phone.
And he found solace in art and poetry.
