Pregnant Cheryl reaches out to her old X Factor nemesis Cher Lloyd after long-time six year feud
Cheryl’s given out the 21st century version of an olive branch to Cher
THEY’VE been enemies for years but it seems Cheryl and Cher Lloyd could officially be friends again.
On Wednesday Cheryl, who is pregnant with her first child, reached out to Cher online and followed her on Twitter – with the Swagger Jagger star quickly following suit.
The pair haven’t seen eye to eye over the past six years, after Cheryl was made Cher’s mentor on The X Factor.
Although they got off to a good start on the ITV singing show, with mum-to-be Cheryl telling the now 23-year-old, “You’re right up my street,” tensions became fraught when the show ended.
The following year, in 2011, when Cher released Swagger Jagger, she told reporters she had “more chance of winning the lottery than catching up” with her former mentor.
Cher then went on to accuse Cheryl of mining during a performance of her hit track Fight For This Love.
Cheryl, 33, later hit back on Twitter, writing: “Be Careful who you kick on your way up…
“They kick you twice as hard on your way back down.. #unappreciationisugly.”
A year on and the pair appeared to try and fracture their broken relationship, with Cheryl saying she “absolutely loved” Cher in her tell-all autobiography. Cheryl: My Story.
By 2014 Cheryl and Cher were fully signed up members to each other’s fan clubs, with Cher saying of the former Girls Aloud star quickie wedding to Jean-Bernard Fernandez Versini: “I really do hope that she can finally enjoy being in a really happy relationship.”
Earlier this year, Cher even went as far to say the pair would like to see each other, saying on Loose Women: “It would be nice to bump into her.”
It seems like a reunion could definitely be on the horizon...
