Amy is living with a terminal lung condition

Her beloved mum Amy was diagnosed with terminal lung condition idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in 2017 and was with her daughters, including Katie’s sister Sophie, when she was being tested for the condition.

The three women recalled the unforgettable moment in the latest episode of Katie’s new family podcast.

Addressing Amy, 73, Kate explained: “Me and Soph went with you to one of the appointments, with Toby, and (the doctor) said it would be one of four things, so he made you blow into a tube.

“And we tried to make a bit of comedy out of it… lung function, by saying what? What did daughter Price say to the doctor to help crack the awful moment?”

Sophie answered for her mum and repeated Katie’s comment before bursting into fits of laughter.

She said: “I bet that’s the hardest you’ve ever had to blow mum.”

Amy also cut in and quipped: “And then she said, ‘you’re used to b*** j*** so you won’t find this hard!”

Katie said on the podcast: “Well I had to lower the tone and crack it… so anyway.

“Well she has had practice. I hope so at 70 anyway!”

Around 6,000 people are diagnosed with the lung disease every year.

The disease is a build-up of scar tissue on the lungs that makes breathing increasingly difficult.

Amy recently underwent a lung transplant.

She revealed during her interview on ITV‘s This Morning that she “jumped” at the opportunity when it was first offered.

According to , Amy’s transplant will improve her quality of life and help her live longer.
