Emmerdale SPOILER Ashley hits Laurel and things only get worse when he wanders outside in his pjamas

Laurel really has got a lot on her plate. Not only is she having to cope with caring for baby Dotty, Ashley and Sandy – she also has Gabby to keep an eye on.
Gabby has already gone totally off the rails once and now she’s struggling to cope with her father’s dementia.
After a heart to heart, Laurel suggests her stepdaughter needs to let off steam and have a bit of fun.
Unfortunately, Gabs takes this to mean she should hit the booze, and when she ends up in hospital, the stress of the situation prompts Ashley to lash out.
“Ashley hits Laurel and there’s blood,” says Charlotte Bellamy, who plays Laurel. “But then when they sit in the hospital together, Ashley has no empathy for her at all.”
Not at first. But later there is a moment of heart-breaking clarity when Ashley realises what he’s done and bursts into tears.
As they return home, Laurel is determined to soldier on without day-care help.
“She realises that she’s out of her depth,” explains Charlotte, “but it’s still very, very hard for her to let go. It’s the hardest thing because she knows that once Ashley leaves, he’s never coming home again.”
When a visit from Bernice gets Ashley in a state, Sandy insists on lightening the load, but it doesn’t last long. As soon as Laurel returns from spending a bit of time with Nicola, things are even more chaotic.
Ashley is wandering around outside in his pyjamas and nearly gets hit by Diane’s car.
Desperate to restore order, Laurel takes extreme action…
Liv takes things too far
It’s hardly surprising that Liv’s a bit of a loose cannon after all that’s happened to her, but it doesn’t make her the most reliable of friends.
She and Gabby have got themselves in a load of trouble previously with their party antics, so when Gabby needs to let off steam, it’s not long before it all goes horribly wrong over at the cricket pavilion (does anyone ever actually play cricket there?).
A drunken Liv dares Gabby to do something stupid on camera and then sticks it up on social media.
Belle tries to get her to delete it, but Liv’s a stubborn sort and when the police and social services come calling, Chas knows something’s got to give.
Kasim returns for Finn
Finn’s somewhat one-sided love affair with Kasim looks to be over when Finn hears the crash victim’s been discharged from hospital.
But fear not, the grateful young man turns up in the village looking for the guy who saved his life.
To Finn’s utter delight, they get on like a house on fire and there’s even a spontaneous snog.
The only thing hindering the path of true love is the fact that Finn still hasn’t told Kasim about his bedside vigil.
All he needs to do is explain that and surely everything will be fine – won’t it?
