Kanye West has checked out of hospital and returned home with Kim Kardashian after undergoing treatment for a ‘psychotic break’
Kanye was admitted to hospital last Monday
KANYE West has been released from hospital and returned home with wife Kim Kardashian after suffering a 'psychotic break' last Monday.
TMZ reports that Kanye has checked out of UCLA Medical Centre after more than a week of treatment.
The outlet reports he left the hospital "under the care of Kim and his personal physician Dr Michael Frarzam," who was the doctor that called 911 when the rapper suffered a "temporary psychosis" as a result of exhaustion.
His release comes after his sister-in-law Kendall Jenner said her family are all "praying" for Kanye as he recovers.
The 21-year-old revealed her famous family did not fly to Paris to see her walk the Victoria's Secret runway but were supporting her from LA.
Kendall's comments come after Kanye's step-brother Hal Carmichael exclusively told The Sun Online Kanye is "scared for his life" and is "terrified people are trying to kill him".
“No one thought Paris would happen in a million years and now he’s seen it happen to Kim, it’s traumatising.
“Ye is tired, he’s hurt, he feels betrayed and he’s probably feeling depressed."
Meanwhile, TMZ reports that the rapper has in fact suffered a nervous breakdown, triggered by stress and because he never truly grieved the death of his mother.
Kanye's mother Donda died the day after undergoing extensive plastic surgery in 2007, and to this day her death is surrounded in unanswered questions.
Kanye's mother Donda died the day after undergoing extensive plastic surgery in 2007, and to this day her death is surrounded in unanswered questions.
Her funeral took place on November 20 - the same day Kanye cancelled his LA concert.
He cancelled the remainder of the tour the next day.
TMZ report: "Our sources say the trigger for the breakdown was Donda's death back in November 2007.
"People close to Kanye tell us he never effectively grieved over his mom's death and has always had a difficult time in November, but this time he reached the breaking point."
They add that the rapper "started to unravel" in the weeks prior to falling ill.
Yesterday it was claimed that Kanye “was having these bouts of paranoia, he thought people were out to get him.”
TMZ's sources also told them that the rapper “wouldn’t let medical staff look at him straight away.”
In a Twitter update, they continued: “The plan was to release Kanye today [Tuesday].
“We are told that is not going to happen, doctors don’t think he’s ready yet.
“This means it is way more serious than it was first reported, or than it was first thought.”
TMZ concluded: “He stays in the hospital today [Tuesday].
"There is no plan for when he will get out – it’s up to when the doctors clear him, and how he progresses in his recovery.”
