TMZ report: "Our sources say the trigger for the breakdown was Donda's death back in November 2007.

It was hoped that he would be released and allowed to recover at home with wife Kim Kardashian and their two children, North, 3, and 11-months-old Saint, but sources claim that he will be staying in the UCLA Medical Centre for the foreseeable future.

Yesterday it was claimed that Kanye “was having these bouts of paranoia, he thought people were out to get him.”

TMZ's sources also told them that the rapper “wouldn’t let medical staff look at him straight away.”

In a Twitter update, they continued: “The plan was to release Kanye today [Tuesday].

“We are told that is not going to happen, doctors don’t think he’s ready yet.

“This means it is way more serious than it was first reported, or than it was first thought.”

They also claim that Kanye has been “struggling with extreme paranoia for quite some time” but only lately had it begun to affect his work and personal life.

TMZ concluded: “He stays in the hospital today [Tuesday].

"There is no plan for when he will get out – it’s up to when the doctors clear him, and how he progresses in his recovery.”
