WHAT ABOUT VICKY?

Scarlett Moffatt appears to take a swipe at Vicky Pattison as she claims there are no female role models from the North

SCARLETT Moffatt appeared to take a swipe at Vicky Pattison as she opened up about the lack of female role models from the North.

Opening up about feminist issues with her fellow I’m A Celebrity campmates Sam Quek and Carol Vorderman, the Gogglebox star revealed she decided to write a book to show girls from the North were about more than just ‘getting drunk’.

She told them: “The thing is I feel like I am a bit of a feminist but I would struggle to find someone who is a Northern woman who is shown to be strong and clever and intelligent because I feel like there is nobody.”

The 26-year-old continued: “That is why I wanted to write a book because I felt like every other person who is from the North, who is a young girl – I feel like the only voices that we are ever given… all people want to know about is how drunk we get, who we have dated, who we haven’t.”

Reiterating her point in the Bush Telegraph, she said: “You don’t hear a lot of regional voices on TV, you just don’t at all."

She added: “You can be a feminist, it doesn’t mean you have to burn your bra and knit your own clothes out of cat fur. You can be a feminist and a strong woman and also like fake tan.”

It seems Scarlett had completely forgotten Vicky Pattison, who not only won I’m A Celeb last year but is now fronting Extra Camp.

Vicky – who is also from Newcastle – has had a hugely successful year which has seen her host Loose Women, launch clothing ranges and continue to sell her fitness products.

While she was of course once known for getting drunk on Geordie Shore, times have since changed and it seems Scarlett has followed in her footsteps, firstly by releasing a fitness DVD and secondly by entering the jungle.

Vicky is of course not the only famous woman to come from the North, in fact even in the North East there are number of women who would be considered role models – such as singer Cheryl and comedian Sarah Millican.
