Fans will now be rushing to book travel and hotel rooms in the city, which can be difficult to get hold of unless bagged early.

Sweden will have hosted Eurovision seven times after next year's contest, making them the most successful country to take part, alongside Ireland.

It has been held once in Gothenburg, three times in Stockholm and, after May 11, three times in Malmö.
