Kanye West has ‘suffered a nervous breakdown triggered by the anniversary of his mother’s funeral’
Rapper has never truly gotten over his mum's sudden death claim new US reports
KANYE West 'suffered a nervous breakdown triggered by the anniversary of his mother's funeral' claim new US reports.
The rapper, 39, was hospitalised after suffering a 'psychotic break' last Monday.
However, TMZ report that the rapper has in fact suffered a nervous breakdown, triggered by stress and because he never truly grieved the death of his mother.
Donda died the day after undergoing extensive plastic surgery in 2007, and to this day her death is surrounded in unanswered questions.
Her funeral took place on November 20 - the same day Kanye cancelled his LA concert.
He cancelled the remainder of the tour the next day.
TMZ report: "Our sources say the trigger for the breakdown was Donda's death back in November 2007.
"People close to Kanye tell us he never effectively grieved over his mom's death and has always had a difficult time in November, but this time he reached the breaking point."
They add that the rapper "started to unravel" in the weeks prior to falling ill.
Yesterday it was claimed that Kanye “was having these bouts of paranoia, he thought people were out to get him.”
TMZ's sources also told them that the rapper “wouldn’t let medical staff look at him straight away.”
In a Twitter update, they continued: “The plan was to release Kanye today [Tuesday].
“We are told that is not going to happen, doctors don’t think he’s ready yet.
“This means it is way more serious than it was first reported, or than it was first thought.”
TMZ concluded: “He stays in the hospital today [Tuesday].
"There is no plan for when he will get out – it’s up to when the doctors clear him, and how he progresses in his recovery.”
