Leicester City star Jamie Vardy’s wife Rebekah to have placenta turned into pills after their second child is born

Footie ace's wife follows in the footsteps of Coleen Rooney and Kim Kardashian with bizarre health trend

SOCCER ace Jamie Vardy’s wife will have her placenta frozen and turned into pills after the birth of their second child.

Rebekah, 34, believes the capsules will help her recover from delivering the Leicester City striker’s baby around the end of the year.

She will follow in the footsteps of Wayne Rooney’s missus Coleen, Tanya Bardsley — wife of Stoke ace Phil — and Kim Kardashian in trying the health fad.

Rebekah, already mum to Jamie’s daughter Sofia, said yesterday: “I’m having my placenta turned into pills!

“It sounds gross but there are so many benefits and they help heal everything quicker, especially after a C-section.

“I told Jamie I’d cook him some of my placenta but he wasn’t impressed! I still don’t know if I’ll need a C-section yet.

"If my baby stays breech then I’ll have to — a nightmare for recovering with no nanny, four kids and Jamie at training.”

Rebekah, who has two other young children from a previous relationship, revealed her plan in a magazine column.

Coleen, 30, had pills made after the birth of third child, Kit, in January and said they left her “full of positive energy”.

She said: “They had a slightly metallic taste and definitely made me feel energised. It helped with a number of pregnancy symptoms like produce of milk.”

Kim, 36, insists eating the freeze-dried pills helped ward off postnatal depression. She said: “I totally recommend it.”

Tot that good for you?

SOME doctors doubt the physical benefits of eating placenta.
Roger Marwood, of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, said: “There are no proven physical benefits in consuming a placenta, whether it is raw, in a smoothie or in capsule form.
“It may be full of protein, but it is unlikely to ward off postnatal depression, help you sleep, increase breast milk production or give you more energy.”
