Kanye West ‘suffers major setback in his recovery’ as doctors refuse to release him from hospital

KANYE West has suffered 'a major setback in his recovery and will not be leaving the hospital any time soon' according to new US reports.

The 39-year-old rapper was hospitalised last Monday after suffering a 'psychotic break', but it was hoped that he would be able to return home to wife Kim Kardashian and their two children today.

However, TMZ claim that it might be a while until he's back with the family unit.

The site reports that "he was having these bouts of paranoia, he thought people were out to get him."

Their sources also told them that the rapper "wouldn't let medical staff look at him straight away."

In a Twitter update, they continued: "The plan was to release Kanye today.

"We are told that is not going to happen, doctors don't think he's ready yet.

"This means it is way more serious than it was first reported, or than it was first thought."

They also claim that Kanye has been "struggling with extreme paranoia for quite some time" but only lately had it begun to affect his work and personal life.

TMZ concluded: "He stays in the hospital today. There is no plan for when he will get out - it's up to when the doctors clear him, and how he progresses in his recovery."

Earlier today we revealed that Kim has halted filming on Keeping Up With The Kardashians as she deals with her marital dramas.

The 36-year-old mum-of-two feared she would be raped when she was held up at gunpoint by masked robbers in a Paris hotel.

Meanwhile, the trauma of Kim's ordeal - paired with a string of other factors - saw Kanye admitted to hospital in handcuffs after suffering a 'psychotic break'.

As if that wasn't enough drama, cynics and critics have been asking if both dramatic incidents could have been part of an elaborate insurance scam - there is no evidence to prove that this is accurate.

Earlier this year, Kanye tweeted about his money woes, and even pleaded for established billionaires to bail him out.
