Spencer Matthew squirms on This Morning as Phillip Schofield tries to ask a question about his brother James and fiancée Pippa Middleton
The Made In Chelsea star tries to dodge questions about the engaged couple
PHILLIP Schofield turned things awkward on This Morning today during an interview with Spencer Matthews.
The host decided to ask the Made In Chelsea star about his brother James and his high profile relationship with Pippa Middleton, to whom he is engaged to.
It came after they were talking about the family’s charity the Michael Matthews Foundation – which is in tribute to their brother who died whilst climbing Mount Everest.
Phil tried to ask a question about James’ involvement with the charity.
After stumbling through his answer Spencer finally said: “James values his private life.”
Not one to give up, Phil, who clearly wanted to talk about Pippa, then said: “You know where I’m going with this, so don’t even attempt it, cause you know I am going to ask the question.”
Spencer looked incredibly awkward, and laughed nervously, but Phil didn’t give up: “So when James went up the Matterhorn (talking about a recent climb he did), did he take Pippa with him?”
Spencer then paused, and said: “I believe he must have done.”
But Phil wanted an answer, saying: “Well it’s not a secret, they are both raising money.”
To which Spencer, who looked slightly annoyed by this point said: “Well Michael was James and my brother, and Pippa’s James’ fiancée so I suppose we all support the charity, in our own way.”
Co-host Holly Willoughby then changed the subject by asking Spencer about starring on the next series of The Jump, to which he revealed that he had never put on a pair of skis before.
