IT’S been one of the most popular game shows on television since it launched in 2005 – and now Deal or No Deal is coming to a town near you.
Despite the long-running show being axed by Channel 4 after 11 years, Noel Edmonds and the Banker are planning one last hurrah and will be packing up the show’s studio to take to the road this Christmas for a series of special episodes.
And they also plan to make TV game show history by filming one of the shows on board a plane at 37,000 feet.
But when does the Deal or No Deal Christmas series start, where is the tour going and what’s it all about?
What’s this year’s Deal or No Deal Christmas series all about?
Presenter Noel Edmonds will be packing up those famous red boxes and taking the show on the road, filming episodes from different locations across the UK.
But they won’t be broadcast from any old TV studio but from various unusual places including public transport and tourist attractions including The Eden Project, Blackpool Tower and the Flying Scotsman.
Why is this series set to make TV game show history?
One of the episodes will take place on board a Boeing 737 which will take off from Birmingham Airport.
Noel, the 22 contestants and the Banker will play the game while the plane flies at 37,000 feet over the skies of the country.
This will mark the first time a UK TV game show has been filmed in mid-air.
When does the Deal or No Deal Christmas series start?
The first episode starts on Monday December 12 at 4pm on Channel 4.
There are ten episodes in this special series, which is called Deal or No Deal on Tour and are believed to be airing every Monday afternoon.
Where is the tour going?
The show will go all over the country and visit various big cities from where it will be broadcast from some very unusual locations.
In Birmingham they will take to the skies in a Beoing 737, an episode will take place on board the Flying Scotsman as it reaches Bury, and the show will also be filmed at the top of the Blackpool Tower.
Noel and the gang will also be filming from the Eden Project in Cornwall, the intu Trafford Centre in Manchester, Longleat House and Safari park, Kelvingrove Museum in Glasgow and Alexandra Palace in north London.
And in another ambitious move, one of the episodes will come from deep underground in the caves at Wookey Hole.
Will we see a jackpot winner?
Actually, yes. Bosses have confirmed that one contestant will be walking away with the top prize of £250,000, making them the show's ninth jackpot winner.
Has the show ever filmed special series before?
Yes, Deal or No Deal has previously aired special seasonal episodes at Halloween, Guy Fawkes Night and Valentine’s Day.
