The presenters wanted to know when Anna Gilford became Honey G

The presenters grilled the rap star after she lost her place on the show last night, after being in the bottom two for the second week running.

The line of questioning began with Phillip asking if she had grown on the show – which led to her revealing she had never done a live rap gig prior to being on the show.

She told them: “Before I entered X Factor I had never done a live rap gig. I feel like a rap artist has been born. I have grown as a rap artist.”

Looking rather taken aback by her comment, Phil questioned what she had been doing up until then.

He continued by asking her when Anna Gilford became Honey G.

She revealed: “In the year 2000 I was studying in university and one of mates came up with my name.

“G because it is my surname and Honey is because he said I was sweet like Honey.”

The presenters then quizzed her on whether she is an act – something which she vehemently denies.

Holly revealed her family are big fans of Honey, but Phillip seemed less taken

“No. I’m not fake, this isn’t an act. I have grown up in the underground scene. I am known to BBC 1 Extra. My mum is classical pianist.”

And addressing her accent, she admitted:  “I might have picked up street lingo being on the underground music scene – it is now part of my personality.”

The quizzing didn’t stop there though as Holly then asked a series of questions about what type of person Honey was looking to meet.

During her appearance on Lorraine today, Honey revealed she would like to settle down and get married.

But the questioning left Honey looking rather uncomfortable as she tried to move the conversation on, saying: “It’s difficult for me to say what my type is.”

Meanwhile those watching at home found the whole thing rather amusing - thanks to Holly and Phil's reflection in Honey's shades.
