The Grade II-listed mansion – located just a few miles away from his previous home in Kent – is set in over 10 acres of land, perfect for growing his own produce.

It also features a swimming pool and paddock, as well as a summer house, detached house and log barn.

The 50-year-old, his wife Alexandra – who he reconciled with last year – and their son Josh moved into the stunning 16th century, five-bedroom property last week.

Speaking about his arrival in area – which features a local farm shop, a resident told the : “Paul and family will be made to feel very welcome here.

“We're quite a close knit community, but there's also so much countryside abound that he won't feel claustrophobic; I imagine it's the perfect escape from all his commitments in London.”

Paul picked up a bumper pay check after making the decision to move to Channel 4 with the Great British Bake Off.

Scouser Paul is believed to be getting £1.2million over three years to be main judge.

It means he will bag £400,000 a series, after getting less than £100,000 a year at the BBC.

Industry experts says he could earn up to £3.5million a year with added endorsements.

But while Paul decided to make the move his co-host  Mary Berry and presenters Mel Giedroyc, 48, and Sue Perkins, 46, refused to follow the dough.

The presenters quit one day after it was announced Channel 4 had bought the rights for the top rated show from makers Love Productions in a £75million deal.

Paul and Mary were modestly paid at the BBC because the show is classed as a factual programme, meaning its budgets are lower.

A source said of this new pay packet: “Paul and Mary didn’t earn nearly as much as everyone thought they did for Bake Off.

“They never once got six figures for their work. In fact Mel and Sue were likely paid more.

“Paul’s new deal is what a show of this magnitude deserves.”
