X Factor’s Honey G insists she’s a real and credible rapper as she reveals she is looking for love and kids
CONTROVERSIAL X Factor star Honey G insisted her aspirations for music stardom have been present "literally all her life" before she confessed she also wants to find love and have kids very soon.
The North Weezy star - who was booted out of the live show last night - admitted she only went on the show to bag a record deal with Simon Cowell yet faced a barrage of criticism throughout her stint from fans branding her 'fake'.
Talking on today's Lorraine show, she listed her experience in the music industry and after previously admitting she "didn't get" the baseball-cap wearing star, host Lorraine Kelly revealed she had been converted.
Honey told her the "main reason" for her being on the show was to secure a music deal and said: "I grew up singing to blues R N B records and singing along to rap albums by Snoop Dog.
"While everyone was listening to the Backstreet Boys I was busting with Snoop Doggy dog's album."
Honey had reeled off a list of her music credentials including work with BBC One Extra radio show and a degree in music production.
Talking of the incessant negative comments from a chunk of the talent show's fans, she added: "If I see anything negative online I don't bother to click on the link.
"If I read things I don't want to read it might upset me.
"I don't take any notice of it any more."
Yet the aspiring star may soon be juggling her career with a hunt for Mr Right.
ITV show presenter Lorraine quizzed her if there was a "Mr Honey G" to which she replied she was single.
She added: "Yeah, I am looking for love.
"I really want to have kids soon.
"I just want to get a long-term partner before I decide to have kids and hopefully marriage one day."
The middle class rapper was axed from the programme last night, after finding herself in the bottom two of the public vote and facing off against boyband 5 After Midnight in the sing off.
“She’s unique and why not?” Honey’s mentor Sharon Osbourne said as she was asked why the rap star should have been saved in place of the boyband.
The rapper’s version of California Love failed to impress the judges who preferred 5AM’s Labrinth’s Beneath Your Beautiful.
“Honey, you’ve had a great run, and I love you but it’s time to send you home,” said Louisas he picked Honey to go home.
Speaking after her elimination, Honey told Dermot: “I just wanted to say how much I have loved working on X Factor, including he judges. This has been completely life changing experience for me and to everyone who said I couldn’t make it – hear I am.”
Revealing her plans for the future on the Xtra Factor, Honey started to beg Simon for a record deal.
She told hosts Rylan and Matt: "I'd really, really like to get a record deal with Simon Cowell. I have my heart set on that. I know I can sell records, and I've got the potential to go far as a rap artist."
It came after the show was plunged into chaos when five men invaded the stage and left Honey shaking shortly after her performance.
The Sun Online revealed that the pranksters were jailed in May after terrifying people with an ill-thought out fake art heist at the National Portrait Gallery.
Opening up on the experience today, Honey told Lorraine: "Simon went to see if I was OK."
