Mark Ramprakash separates from wife No2
Ex-England cricketer ‘disappointed’ marriage over
LOVE rat Strictly star Mark Ramprakash split from his second wife in May 2015, less than three years after they married.
Ramprakash, who won BBC1 dance show Strictly in 2006, tied the knot with PR girl Puja Vedi in 2012.
Ex-England cricketer Ramprakash, 45, told The Sun: “I’m very disappointed that things did not work out and I wish Puja the best of luck.”
His marriage to first wife Vandana Bhatt ended after 18 years in 2010.
At the time friends said their relationship did not recover from his six-year affair with Welsh office worker Sadia Saleem.
Sadia said at the time: “He told me that he wanted me to be part of his life forever.”
Ramprakash said it was love at first sight when he met Puja, 38, in 2011.
They dated in secret for several months until he proposed.
Before the wedding she said: “I’ve been pretty lucky — great family, awesome friends, travelled the world, exciting adventures — but I never thought I’d be so lucky as to meet the man of my dreams.
“When Mark asked me to marry him, I knew I was the luckiest girl in the world.”
But just a few weeks ago, Puja changed her name from Ramprakash back to Vedi on her social media networks, deleted all her wedding pictures and stopped following her husband on Twitter.
In October last year a court acquitted Vandana, 45, after she was accused of slashing her brother’s arms with broken glass.
A month later Ramprakash was made batting coach to the England cricket team.
