However, he blamed his laid back attitude as the reason he was the first to be given the boot from .
On why he chose to enter the competition, he said: "I'm winding down my television work and I always wanted to do this show."
He explained: "I told my agent 'the only thing I want to do was the best show on television' which was this."
"People must think I was being cavalier in there, but I love this show. I'm a massive fan of this programme."
However, it wasn't always plain sailing as he added: "The toilet was a revolting hole in the ground - and I went to a pub in the seventies!"
He then admitted: "I'm not surprised I was out first," and ended the interview by admitting he wanted Scarlett to win.
Danny revealed that he had actually ASKED to participate on the show after becoming a fan back home - and thought this was the best time after beating a six year battle with throat and mouth cancer.
He praised the show and said it was a "lifelong ambition" to take part, explaining: "The only show I've ever wanted to do is this. It's like being asked to do a West End musical.
"This is, in modern TV, as good as it gets. They fly you around the world, put you in a hotel with a beach, then you play gamed in the jungle."
The star failed to maintain their place after going up to the public vote against Carol Vorderman, Joel Dommett, Jordan Banjo, Scarlett Moffatt, Larry Lamb and Martin Roberts.
Adam Thomas, Sam Quek, Ola Jordan and Wayne Bridge had managed to bag immunity from the evening's eviction after winning the Claim of Thrones challenge that has occurred over the last three days.
The foursome, who were dubbed 'Royalty' in the task, were given hot showers, clean beds and banquets while the rest of the group maintained their live of 'squalor' in the main camp.
To add insult to injury, they also had to wait on the royal camp mates, cooking and cleaning for them.
However, they were given several opportunities to claim their own throne and overthrow one of the current Royals in a series of tasks.
Adam managed to save his space after beating Joel in the Beer Brewery task on Thursday night's show and Lisa Snowdon in Friday night's Gates of Hell challenge.
Catch I'm a Celebrity, weekdays at 9pm on ITV1, followed by Extra Camp on ITV2.
