The Strictly star replaced the silver fox for an episode of the daytime telly fave - and was loved
THS MORNING host Phillip Schofield has joked he wants to “kill” Ore Oduba after he stood in for him to rave reviews.
, 30, replaced the 54-year-old presenter to join , 35, on the ITV show’s sofa on Thursday — saying he felt like “an excited child”.
But now is the one throwing his toys out of the pram after impressed fans said Ore — who is currently appearing on — should become a regular fixture on the programme.
Speaking to The Sun at the ITV Gala on Thursday, Schofield denied he was worried about losing his job, joking: “No, no because they know if they’re really good they know I’ll have him killed!”
He continued: “I haven’t seen it because I was working, but apparently it went really well. That’s what I want for the show.
“It’s good to know that if someone is going to stand in for you it’s all in safe hands. I’m thrilled for him.”
And Holly was just as gushing about the BBC Sport presenter.

She said: “He’s amazing. I watched him when he was doing all the Olympics and all the press stuff but yeah he’s great.
“It was so nice to have him there. He did so well for his first time because it’s a big old show and obviously he’s done loads of live telly anyway but I remember my first show and I was absolutely terrified and really nervous - it was like he’d been doing it for his life.
“I think he’s doing really well. I saw a bit of his paso doble today he was kind of rehearsing with Michael McIntyre in the break - maybe not the best partner to have. But he’s going to do really well. He’s was quite good - good hips!”
Ore was drafted in by ITV after Phillip began filming a documentary with the Duke of Edinburgh.
And he’ll be pleased that it has now ended so he can reclaim his Good Morning spot next to Holly.
He said: “I think we’ve wrapped today, I think it was our last day’s filming. I’ve just done a documentary with the Duke of Edinburgh and the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
“I was at Westminster Abbey with him and the Queen this morning as you do. So that’s been quite a cool thing to do.
"It’s amazing. He’s fantastic. I adore him. For 95 years old he is so sharp so on it and doesn’t suffer fools.
“So I really admire him. I watched him shake 4,000 hands and then bounce over to me. He’s an incredible guy but it’s about the awards as well. So I’ve been following him for about a year.”
