Kanye West’s ‘hospitalisation is far from over’ after shocking psychotic break
Rapper was escorted to hospital in handcuffs earlier this week - and US reports claim he might stay there a while
KANYE West 'is suffering from a lot more than just dehydration' - and will stay in hospital until at least the end of this week claim new US reports.
Sources close to the 39-year-old, who suffered a 'psychotic break' on Monday, have told that his stay under medical supervision could last longer than friends an family hoped.
The website claim "his hospitalization is far from over" - and he will be staying in the UCLA Medical Centre until at least Sunday.
They also report that his condition is "way worse than sleep and water deprivation".
It had previously been reported that the egotistical rapper would continue his stay at UCLA Medical Center during the American holiday of Thanksgiving with wife Kim Kardashian by his side.
She had previously asked if he could come home and spend it with her and their two children, North, 3 and baby Saint, who turns one next month.
magazine report that wife Kim left his bedside for the first time on Wednesday evening with a personal security guard.
She will return on Thursday morning to celebrate the holiday.
Kanye is currently being treated for a ‘temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration.’
Discussing his progress, an American source told the publication: “[Kanye] is starting to feel more like himself, and that he understands the importance of ‘resting and getting help.’
“They are taking it day by day. He understands that getting help at the hospital was necessary.”
Kanye’s medical emergency may save him millions of dollars, it has also been reported.
After cancelling all remaining tour dates six hours before being admitted to UCLA Medical Center, his insurance policy is expected to cover him for the $30million loss these shows will incur.
claims the policy covers the rapper “if the event illness prevented him from performing”.
It continues: “The policy provides the insurance carrier will pay Kanye for not only the money he’d make but the money he was obligated to pay others if ‘accident or illness … prevents any Insured Person from appearing or continuing to appear in any or all of the Insured Performance(s) or Event(s).’”
