One of the candidates got a feeling of being fired before they'd even stepped into the boardroom thanks to a row
USUALLY on The Apprentice it's Lord Alan Sugar doing the firing, but not this week.
Instead of the property and technology billionaire being the only one to point and say 'you're fired!' to a candidate, Essex boy Paul Sullivan stepped in and did it himself.
The marketing agency owner found himself rowing with online fashion entrepreneur Jessica Cunningham during the task.
The pair clashed in front of guests at their event as part of the fish related task.
But instead of taking it in his stride, taking control and leading his team, he decided to sack Jessica from her role as sub-team leader.
Claiming she 'created confusion during ticket sales', Paul sacks her and replaces her with Frances Bishop.
After he made the decision, Jessica seethed: "I'll support Frances, but I'm p****ed off."
This week's tasks see the two teams have to put on events at two of London's biggest tourist attractions - The SEA LIFE London Aquarium and Madame Tussauds.
In less than 36 hours, each team must organise and host an event to remember, keeping an eye on profits but also setting up refreshments and entertainment,and making sure they sell enough tickets to fill their venue.
For one project manager it’s a dream gig, but the initial grand plans soon change and the ticket sellers get into deep water when they start making promises that they can’t keep. On the night of the event, their project manager puts on a song and dance for the guests, but seems more interested in entertaining than keeping an eye on the team and increasing profit margins.
On the other team, the pricing strategy goes out of the window within minutes, and when they realise they have to tighten the reins on their budget, the luxury evening starts to sound a bit more ‘bargain basement’. When faced with disgruntled customers, one candidate gets an awkward scolding from their team’s project manager.
