Coronation Street fans DEVASTATED as Peter Andre fails to appear on the cobbles with a dodgy lookalike instead

CORONATION Street viewers have been left devastated by the lack of Peter Andre.

The ITV soap featured a lookalike of the Australian popstar, named Pedro Andre, instead of Peter as a surprise to Gemma Winter.

But far from being the real Peter, instead the northern, hapless version, Pedro, turned up and while Gemma was still thrilled, viewers were left upset over the lack of real Andre.

"Well that was a bit of disappointment - it was not the Peter Andre but a poor lookalike on #CoronationStreet," tweeted one viewer.

"Looks nothing like Peter Andre," another added.

"Did Peter Andre pay Corrie to keep mentioning him? #Corrie," said a third while a fourth added: "Imagine what it would've been like if the real Peter Andre was on it.

"I reckon you better sort out a cameo from the real one."

However, others LOVED Pedro Andre and wanted him to stick around.

"Loving #Pedro Andre in #coronationstreet," said one with a lot of crying with laughter emojis.

Another very excited individual tweeted: "I died at the Peter Andre lookalike scene. It's made my F***ING DAY! #Corrie"

The scene came about after Gemma won the Good Citizen Award and was promised the chance to meet her idol.

Speaking to Dev Alahan, who was surprised to learn she was a fan, Gemma said: "He's like, No4 on my bargain bucket list."

The scene prompted viewers to tweet Peter suggesting he make a cameo on the show.

Fast-forward to the episode airing Wednesday, November 23, and Gemma has won the Good Citizen Award.

She's counting down the hours until the awards ceremony, where she's meant to meet the former Strictly star.

Unfortunately, Peter cancels at the last minute, leaving Gemma devastated, but at least she had Pedro to keep her company.
