Emmerdale’s Joanie Dingle confesses to framing Belle as she reveals she knows husband Zak kissed Lisa
The factory worker found herself forced to admit to writing her own name down after Belle was forced to resign over it
EMMERDALE'S Joanie Dingle looks set for heartbreak after confessing to getting herself fired.
The factory worker wrote her own name on a secret ballot to decide which of the factory girls would lose their jobs, but ended up inadvertently framing step-daughter Belle for it, and now it looks like she's destroyed her marriage too.
In Wednesday night's episode of the ITV soap, Joanie confessed all and ended up revealing she knew husband Zak had kissed his ex Lisa and was desperate to keep him.
Joanie was forced into admitting it was her after the other factory workers turned on Belle, assuming she was the one to write Joanie's name on the secret ballot.
Their behaviour even forced the troubled youngster into resigning from the factory to protect her own health after her recent breakdown.
"Everybody thinks I got you sacked, including my boyfriend," she thundered at Joanie.
"I never suggested it was you, that didn't come from me," Joanie insisted, discovering what her deception had done to Belle.
But Belle had made her decision and decided to quit the factory.
"I need to put my health first now and avoid triggering situations, I'm going to hand my notice in," she told her before heading to the pub to tell Priya.
"I'm sorry about this, but I've been writing this," she said, handing her boss her letter of resignation.
"It's my notice and no, it's nothing to do with Joanie because she's the only one who actually believes me, which is all that really matters. But you're right it's too soon."
As gobby Kerry joined in to insult Belle for putting Joanie's name in, Joanie finally admitted that she was the one who put her own name in the secret ballot.
Later, at home Joanie finally confronted Zak and revealed she had known he'd kissed Lisa all along and was desperate to get him away from temptation.
"Jacking in my job is the only way I can prise you away from here," she told a confused Zak.
"I read your diary Belle, I'm so sorry. I know it's wrong, it was just laying there."
Turning to Zak she said: "You kissed Lisa. You still have feelings for her. Somebody said you have to be proactive, so I was because I don't want to lose you Zak."
Then Belle turned on him, telling Joanie she didn't leave because of her, but because of how Zak had behaved.
"And you let me believe it because she couldn't stand my company," Joanie said.
"And all this time you were keeping it a secret. Poor stupid clueless Joanie. Well what comes around goes around."
As the pair rowed, Zak insisted he wanted to move to Leeds to make a go of it with Joanie, but as she stormed off, is the Dingle marriage doomed?
