I’m A Celebrity’s Ant and Dec apologise for ‘weird’ ending to last night’s episode after standing silent in front of the camera in awkward technical error

I'M A Celebrity's Ant and Dec have apologised for an awkward tech error at the end of last night's episode.

The funny hosts were seen smiling and muttering awkwardly to the camera before the closing credits flashed up, unaware they were still live on air.

Now Ant has apologised for the "weird" ending, insisting it was a simple mishap due to running live Down Under.

He wrote on Twitter: "Sorry about the weird end to the show everyone. Some tech issues. But hey, we are LIVE from Australia! See you tomorrow. A."

The camera had cut through to the I'm A Celebrity Extra team teasing their show to come, and flicked back through to Ant and Dec at the end - without them realising.

Dec could be heard saying "it's gone", before Ant did a wrap motion with his hand - realising too late they were still on air.

Meanwhile in last night's action-packed episode, Adam Thomas and Danny Baker teamed up in the latest Bushtucker Trial Cage Rage, gaining an impressive 12 stars for camp.

Poor Emmerdale actor Adam was left screaming in fear however, as he came face to face with a giant spider.

The task involved Adam and Danny being submerged in a cage underwater with snakes and other scary creatures as they tried to win the camp meals.

Realising one of the underwater compartments was filled with his worst fear - spiders - Adam was forced to bottle his fear and unscrew a star with a spider hovering directly over it.

Elsewhere, the stars will now all go head to head in a new challenge Claim of Thrones tonight, to try to win immunity from the first public vote.

They will all be taking part in the stomach-churning Bushtucker Trial tonight, which has been dubbed the ‘Vicious Circle’.

The winners will also be treated to luxuries including hot showers and warm beds for at least 24 hours.
