Katie Price shows off new coat made from 100% Raccoon fur and upsets fans on Instagram
KATIE Price sparked fury after posing in a new coat made from raccoon fur.
The former glamour model showed off the £395 quilted jacket from Popski London on her Instagram profile on Wednesday.
Smiling into the camera, Katie told her followers she was heading out to watch her husband Kieran Hayler enjoy a horse-jumping lesson.
But rather than a kind reaction, Katie was vilified for wearing the coat – which boasts a racoon fur trim and hood.
Katie’s pom-pom hat is also made with racoon fur.
One furious fan wrote next to the snap: “I actually have always championed you but now I have totally gone off you!
“You look at animals all around you everyday and your page is full of them and then you go out wearing them on your back like it’s so normal!
“Those raccoons were farmed and killed for that trim that you really don't need in your life! You’ve lost a fan.”
Others were confused why Katie – who has previously gushed over how much she loves animals – would choose to wear fur, with one of her followers simply writing: “Real fur? Thought you were an animal lover Katie?”
It’s not the first time the mum-of-five has come under fire for wearing fur – with Katie causing controversy after she put her two daughters,
Princess and Bunny, in hats made from Fox and Raccoon Fur.
Some of her followers were outraged when she shared the photograph, with one angrily commenting: “Why would you want to contribute to the murder of millions of animals that are tortured and skinned alive for their fur?”
Others tried to stick up for the 37-year-old however, with one writing next to the picture: “Just because she dressed her kids in real fur doesn't mean she isn't a good parent.
“I've watched Katie since I was a child myself and she is a brilliant parent, stop judging her and get over yourselves.”
