Una Healy lifts lid on exactly how her sexy throuple with David Haye and model Sian Osborne worked and why she ended it
“I REMEMBER sitting on the plane on the way over to Morocco,” Una Healy recalled about a romantic getaway with boxer David Haye and his model partner Sian Osborne.
“I got the window seat and he was in the middle, and one of his hands was on my leg and the other hand was on her leg.
“I said to him, ‘What am I doing?’ And he goes, ‘You’re having a midlife crisis. Don’t worry, so am I’.
“And I was like, ‘Well she’s not because she’s ten years younger’.”
That is how The Saturdays singer, 41, remembered her unconventional and whirlwind love affair, as she told for the first time about her experience in the UK’s most famous throuple.
Former cruiserweight champion David, 42, started dating Sian, 31, in 2020 but last year wanted to expand their relationship — which led to him also seeing Una.

On the news coming out about the throuple, mum-of-two Una said: “I think he was very happy about it, whereas I was in bits.
“He didn’t get it.
“He was really trying to coach me on not getting upset.
“He was like, ‘Why do you worry so much about what people think?’
“I said, ‘It’s not really that, it’s more what they’re actually saying to me.
“I’ve never had to hit the block button so much.
“I don’t want to be part of a three-way relationship’.”
Asked if she felt “hoodwinked” into being in a throuple, she said: “I was, in a way. I was.”
The Sun revealed in January how the trio were in a romantic relationship.
But Una has now revealed she was only ever attracted to David — and was told Sian was out of the picture when they first connected through a celebrity matchmaking service.
‘It’s like a swamp’
She explained: “I met him last summer online, on a dating app, Raya.
“I haven’t had any luck on it really apart from that I did meet David and we had a lovely relationship.
“I recognised him and I remembered him from back in the day when he was boxing.
“I hit the like button and as soon as I hit it, you know when it connects straight away?
“I was like, ‘Ah, he’s already liked me as well’.”
But Una was instantly hesitant after discovering he had cheated on his wife of eight years, make-up artist Natasha, which had led to the end of their marriage in 2016.
It was a painful reminder of the mum-of-two’s own past, after her marriage to rugby union player Ben Foden, 37 — dad to her daughter Aoife, 11, and eight-year-old son Tadhg — ended in 2018 because he was unfaithful.
She continued: “I did a Google and I was like, ‘Well, I’m probably going from the frying pan into the fire with this fella because he did exactly to his wife what my ex-husband did to me’.
“So I didn’t like that. We were chatting on WhatsApp and I said, ‘What are you looking for in a relationship?’
“And he said, ‘Well, I’ve just split up with my girlfriend and I’m single but I don’t believe that the traditional relationship exists any more’.
“I’m a monogamous person and hopefully, one day, I will settle down with a nice monogamous man. That’s what I want.
“So I said to him, ‘Good luck with that. We can just be friends anyway’.”
Una was living in Ireland and David wooed her with regular phone calls which would last for hours.
They started spending time together one-on-one when she would make trips to see him in London.
Una said: “He was a real gentleman.
“He took me on a lovely date.
“We went to see a play in London and then any time I was ever working in London I’d meet him.
“It was casual, it wasn’t serious.
“I was happy enough with it.
“It was in a romantic capacity.
“It was lovely.
“He was very honest that I wasn’t the only woman he was seeing.
“At least I knew he was being honest.
“It’s not like I was being cheated on and I was like, ‘I know he’s not husband material so this is just a bit of fun’. And I was enjoying it.”
She later learned that Sian was back in the picture and he encouraged the women to meet, insisting it was important because they were both “very special to me”.
But in a confusing twist, she revealed David wouldn’t use the term “girlfriend” for either Sian nor her.
Una said: “He doesn’t label.
“He never really says ‘girlfriend’.
“He’s never called her his girlfriend.”
On being introduced to Sian, Una recalled: “I did meet her and she was a really nice girl.
“I didn’t get to know her very well . . . I wasn’t romantic with her.
“I don’t really know her.
“We did spend a few days together.
“We went away to Morocco as the three of us.
“I was like, ‘Please will you come away with me?’ He said, ‘OK, but Sian’s coming too’.
“I would have rather it was just me and him, but she’s a nice girl, so I said she can come too.”
After that trip, the news of their relationship went public, but Una had no idea what the term throuple — relating to a three-way romance — actually meant.
She confessed: “I had to Google because I had never heard it in my life.
“I was like, ‘What is this?’”
It was on a subsequent trip in January, when Una visited the pair while they were holidaying in Costa Rica, that she realised she had to escape the complex relationship.
And she said her unlikely source of clarity was the 1998 hit The Boy Is Mine, in which R&B stars Brandy and Monica argue over a man they are both seeing.
She explained: “As soon as I got there it was like I could hear the song. I was like, I’m Brandy.”
Of Sian, she said: “There was no dynamic there at all.
“She’s not my girlfriend, he’s both of ours boyfriend.
“I was like, ‘You know what? I’m out. This isn’t for me. You can have him’.
“He can have whoever he wants, because one will never be enough for him.
“I went back as a little hermit to Thurles (her home town in County Tipperary, Ireland) for months.
“He calls it ‘unsubscribing from the team’. So I got back and I was like, ‘I’ve unsubscribed’.
“He was like, ‘Fair enough, you do what makes you happy’.”
Reflecting on their romance during a discussion on the My Therapist Ghosted Me podcast, Una continued: “I really enjoyed my relationship with him and he is actually a really nice guy.
“He was very kind to me, very honest, but it ran its course and I’ve been single ever since.
“I haven’t been on a date since.
“I went back on the app for a while and when you’re talking about the fish in the sea, it’s like a swamp.
“It is tough when you get to my age in the dating world.
“A lot of the good ones are caught and taken.”
Una said the hardest element has been the trolling she has received on social media from people saying her unusual love life has made her a bad mother.
She said: “The worst thing for me was some people going, ‘The poor kids’.
“That’s just so nasty.
“I am standing up for myself here because I look after and love my children so well, so I’m so proud to be their mother and they’re proud that I’m their mother.
“I just felt that was really horrible.”
But she admits she is proud of how she looks in photos with David and Sian, particularly one picture where she is wearing a black bikini on a beach.
She said with a laugh: “I’ll keep the picture but cut them out.”
Una, who had 13 Top Ten singles as one fifth of girl group The Saturdays, is now using the relationship as inspiration for her solo music.
She added: “I’ve got a new single coming out on June 1 called Walk Away. What does that rhyme with? David Haye.

“It’s very country pop and I can’t wait for it to come out.
“I’m really excited.”
