FIRST Dates spin-off First Dates Abroad heads to Canada, for its third series, after previous stints in Australia and Ireland.

What time is it on E4 tonight?

First Dates Abroad premieres at five minutes after midnight (so technically on Wednesday).

The episode will also be available on demand.

Where is this series filmed?

Series 3 is filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, at trendy Earls restaurant in Yaletown.

What happens in this series? 

As always, strangers are paired up, based on mutual interests, to share dinner at the First Dates restaurant. Forced laughter, awkward small talk, and occasionally romance ensue, with every moment captured on one of 30 cameras hidden throughout the venue.

After the meal, the couple meet to discuss how the date went, and whether they want to see each other again.

Tonight’s episode sees glam radio DJ Denai, 28, matched with Englishman Edward, also 28, who has “never had a girlfriend” but would “love to settle down and have kids”.

Denai has high expectations: “When I meet him I want to light up inside and I want my heart to explode. When I meet that someone, I want to love them to death,” she says before her date.

During the date, the pair compare photos of their childhood chubby phases, and Denai is charmed by Edward’s accent; will she also be charmed when he shows her his “lucky boxers”?

Later episodes will feature a date between Janice, 50, and Kenneth, 25, who has a thing for older women; a single mum, Dawn-Marie, going on her first date in 20 years; and former Big Brother Canada star Graig, who hopes his newfound fame will help him win over his date.
