Who are Rebekah Vardy’s mother Alison Nicholson and father Carlos Miranda?

REBEKAH Vardy has claimed that she was sexually abused at the age of 12 - but her mum didn't believe her.

The football Wag lived with her mum Alison Nicholson and father Carlos Miranda in Norwich, until they divorced when she was just 11.

Who is Alison Nicholson? 

Alison Nicholson is the mother of Rebekah and her younger sister Esther, bringing them up as Jehovah's Witnesses.

When Rebekah was 11-years-old, Alison divorced her husband, Carlos Miranda, and began dating her boss, radio presenter Iain Nicholson.

The family moved to Witney, Oxfordshire, with Becky admitting that she was "settled there".

However, the mother and daughter are now estranged after Rebekah confided in her mum that she had been sexually abused soon after the move.

In her documentary, Jehovah's Witnesses And Me, Rebekah revealed that "after three years of hell" she finally told her mum about the abuse. 

But her mother didn't believe her and called her a liar, causing a rift between the pair.

Becky revealed: “She cried, but didn’t believe me."

The former I’m A Celebrity star added: "Instead of being supported I was blamed, manipulated into believing it wasn't the best thing to take it to the police.”

In the 2023 Channel 4 documentary, the wife of Jamie Vardy also alleges the religious group failed to help support her during that time.  

While discussing her harrowing abuse, Becky is seen breaking down in tears saying that “nobody valued me enough to protect me”. 

The breakdown in the relationship with her mum, led to her becoming homeless at 15. 

The rift resulted in Alison missing the wedding of her daughter to footballer Jamie in 2016.

Is Alison Nicholson married? 

Alison divorced Carlo Miranda - Rebekah's father - when her oldest daughter was 11 years old.

She is remarried to Iain Nicholson. 

What has Rebekah Vardy said about her mother?  

In an exclusive interview with The Sun in 2016, Rebekah said that she "felt sorry for" her mum.

She said: “What happened affected me badly and I think I’m fundamentally quite a strong person.

“I’ll never forgive that man for what he did to me. Never. But I have moved on.

“I feel sorry for my mum for not having more strength to believe in me, I know I would have believed my girls and I would be there if they were in the same situation.

In May 2023, Rebekah appeared on Good Morning Britain with Susanna Reid discussing her abuse and subsequent relationship break down with her mother. 

She said: “I don’t have a relationship with my mum.

"The breakdown over the relationship with my mum was ultimately the abuse, and not being believed when you take something like that to one of your parents.

"It’s the most harrowing experience and the effects, the after-effects of that led to me becoming a bit of a crazy, rebellious teenager and looking back, it’s not surprising."

Who is Rebekah Vardy's father Carlos Miranda? 

Carlos Miranda is Rebekah's father, who works as a chauffeur and lives in Bournemouth

He was born in Madeira, Portugal, making Rebekah half Portuguese.

Despite the TV celeb having no relationship with her mother, Carlos and Becky remain close. 

He has always supported his daughter even jetting to Australia when she was in the jungle.

And he has been by her side during the Coleen Rooney court case.
