Julian Clary announces wedding to long-term partner Ian Mackley on Twitter
He revealed the news with a very cheeky message
COMEDIAN Julian Clary tied the knot with his long-term partner Ian Mackley over the weekend.
The 57-year-old announced the happy news on Twitter with a tongue-in-cheek message.
He posted a picture of himself and the adverting executive signing the marriage register suited and booted in the registry office.
In his usual cheeky style he confirmed their marriage with a tongue in cheek message, writing: "On Saturday he slipped his finger into my ring at last. #married."
Clary's fellow comedians Dawn French and Mark Trevorrow were among those to post congratulations on social media.
French tweeted "Wooooohoooooo!" and added a string of hearts.
Australian comic Trevorrow said: "Oh my dearest darlings - sincere congrats and much love to you both. Thrilled!"
The couple have been together since 2005 after they met on a yacht in Ibiza.They now live in Aldington, Kent in a 15th-century manor house, which was once owned by playwright Noel Coward.

Partner Ian, however, spends most of his time working in London but Julian believes that's why their relationship works.
Speaking to he said: "It's the perfect arrangement because we get to have one space from each other.
"'We don't go to first nights and parties – it's not his sort of thing – and when we come down here no one bats an eyelid."
