The X Factor reject Ryan Lawrie hints Honey G is a fake as he compares her to Keith Lemon and reveals she struggles to hide her posh accent
Ryan admitted he knew he was going home this weekend after he landed in the bottom two with the controversial rapper
THE X Factor reject Ryan Lawrie has given the strongest hint yet that Honey G is a fake as he compared her to comedy character Keith Lemon.
Ryan lost out in a showdown with the controversial rapper over the weekend, and he has now revealed how she struggled to hide her real self during her time in The X Factor house.
Ryan and Honey G faced each other in the sing-off, and the aspiring hip-hop star came out on top as she kept her place in the competition for another week.
Viewers were outraged by the result, and many claimed the show is fixed in her favour.
The singer opened up about the furore during an interview on This Morning today, and he has hinted that Honey G is not all she seems.
He claims she is a"character" like Keith Lemon, who was created by comedian Leigh Francis.
Ryan also revealed Honey appears to struggle to keep up her "street" style in The X Factor house, and often slips back into a "posh accent."
During his interview with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Ryan was asked whether he thinks Honey G is a fake.
He replied: "I feel [it's] like a Keith Lemon vibe.. Like a character she portrays.
"I feel it's a side to her in a sense..."
He went on to reveal the mask slipped when she was behind closed doors with the other housemates.
Ryan explained: "I didn't really see her that much in the house... She goes in her room and rehearses a lot.
"I still feel like there's two sides to her... Like a split personality thing... "
The singer also revealed she struggles to keep up her "street" accent and sometimes sounds very "posh".
He added: "The accent changes. Sometimes she'll be really posh and sometimes it'll be like street talk."
However, Ryan insisted that despite his misgivings about Honey G, her act is "working really well".
The Sun Online previously exclusively revealed that Honey G dropped her posh accent for the show and has deliberately dumbed herself down.
Honey G, whose real name is Anna Gilford, has been exposed as a middleclass recruitment manager with a passion for tennis.
We also revealed she gave herself a “complete personality transplant” as part of her reinvention.
Stephanie Jones attended Salford University with Anna, and she has revealed her former uni mate is actually very different to the persona she ‘created’ for TV.
She told us: “The kind of person she was was very very switched on. There was none of this urban street persona – she was… a smart student…
"She is actually really well spoken. She’s from a really decent background – she didn’t speak like that before…”
