Again Louis reiterated his point, saying: "He’s a better entertainer."

Ignoring Louis' harsh remark, Nicole told her act: "Babycakes, we need to put you behind bars more often because she came alive tonight.

"I feel you are the most relevant to be on the radio with what is out there. He sounds like money honey."

Speaking to Dermot, Ryan - who has been in the bottom two for a number of occasions, said: "I just think about coming out here and having the best time. I am just focused on giving the best performance I can."

It’s not the first time Ryan has faced public criticism – on last week’s Xtra Factor a viewer called in and suggested he would not amount to much when the show ended.

The viewer asked Louis: “My question is for Louis. Last night we saw Ryan perform in a pub for about ten people. Is that going to be the same amount of records he’ll sell if he ever releases an album?”

Ryan, who has found himself in the bottom three on a number of occasions, shared his thoughts about the process with fans on Twitter - admitting he's not the strongest singer.

In an emotional post, he wrote: "For those who have just got to know me on 'The X Factor'. I am not some boy who jumps around and is trying to become 'Famous'. I am here for a reason and that reason is to make a career in music.

"I am NOT the strongest singer in the competition and I know that I'm probably (most likely) not going to win, but what I can say is I am a human being with a dream and I am trying to make it become reality.

"I am a songwriter. That is my first love and my main passion. I have been writing since I was a young boy and that is where my talent is.

"I am a loving and genuine boy. I wish the vest for everyone. I just wish people would understand that I'm just doing what I love.”
