Anne-Marie channels iconic West End show for upcoming third album

Anne Marie appeared on the West End as a kid and is now bringing her love of theatre to her own music.

The Sun can reveal the 2002 singer has completed her third album, which follows 2021’s Therapy, and has channelled the song I’d Do Anything from the hit musical Oliver! for one of the tracks.

The British pop star's record will also include her recent single Sad and her hit collaboration with Aitch, called Psycho.

A source said: “Anne-Marie has been working really hard on this album for the best part of two years and is super proud of the record.

“Like with Therapy, lyrically it’s been inspired by her own experiences but the sound has advanced somewhat.

“One track is a nod to her musical theatre days and inspired by I’d Do Anything.

“There are a few ballads on there but on the whole it’s just a really fun and uplifting record.”

Speaking previously about it, she said: “I feel like from the first and second album I’ve learnt a lot about myself, and now I know this is who I am.”

Since making her debut in 2015 alongside Rudimental, Anne-Marie has bagged seven Top Ten singles and two Top Three albums.

Annie-Marie's second album came out of some of her darkest moments as she battled to overcome mental health issues.

She said recently: “I have grown as an artist and a human in the same way, it’s the same journey and what I learn as a human affects the music and vice versa.

"Starting therapy in lockdown was a big moment for me, it helped me to understand and cope with my anxiety which was a huge change and really liberating.

"The best music comes when you’re in a place of freedom and not caring what other people think.

"You’ve just got to tune in, express yourself honestly and make what you think is the coolest, best version of what you can make.”
