Ex-I’m a Celebrity star Lady Colin Campbell accuses spin-off host Vicky Pattison of faking her Geordie accent
I'M a Celebrity spin-off host Vicky Pattison has been accused of faking her Geordie accent by acid-tongued former campmate Lady Colin Campbell.
The reigning jungle champ, 29, is putting on her distinctive speaking style in a "strategic and tactical" ploy to win fans, according to the socialite.
Lady C, 67, told The Sun: "She's very strategic and very tactical. Her mother is very middle class.
"It's all a complete affectation. She does it to make herself more authentic and appealing to a certain category of person.
"Her mother is completely alien to that. That's not Vicky's background. That's not how she was brought up. That can't be how she really sounds."
I was the star of last year's series, that's what everybody says. I'm sure that sticks in Vicky Pattison's craw
Lady C, who walked out of I'm a Celeb following clashes with former Dragons' Den star Duncan Bannatyne and Spandau Ballet frontman Tony Hadley, also claimed Vicky was jealous of her popularity.
She said: "People seem to find me entertaining because I'm just me and say it as it is. I was the star of last year's series, that's what everybody says. I'm sure that sticks in Vicky Pattison's craw."
Lady C's shock outburst comes despite Vicky having defended her controversial behaviour in the camp following her victory.
