Grand Tour wins rave reviews as viewers declare the show is better than Top Gear

THE Grand Tour debuted last night to rave reviews as viewers branded the show "better than Top Gear".

The new series starring Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond went live at midnight and fans flocked to Twitter to gush about the first episode.

The series has cost an estimated £160 million, and the first episode with packed with fast cars and explosive action sequences.

The Grand Tour is believed to be the most expensive in TV history.

Fans were amazed by the big budgets sequences, but they were also thrilled with the banter and onscreen antics of the three hosts.

One wrote: "Top Gear is dead. Long live The Grand Tour."

Another added: "LESS THAN TEN MIN INTO THE FIRST EP OR THE GRAND TOUR AND ITS ALREADY SO PREFECT..."

In a later tweet, a viewer added: "The grand tour was absolutely amazing can't wait for next episode."

One simply wrote: "Grand Tour is so f**king amazing."
