When is A Series of Unfortunate Events season 2 on Netflix?

Netflix has announced the second season will air TODAY (March 30).

Unlike the first season, series two will have ten episodes.

All ten will be released at once.

Due to its phenomenal success, season three has already been confirmed.

What is A Series of Unfortunate Events about?

A Series of Unfortunate Events is based on the novel series by Lemony Snicket, which is the pen name for author Daniel Handler.

The story follows the lives of three children: Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire.

At the beginning, the children learn that both their parents have died in a huge fire, which also destroyed their family home.

The orphans are then placed in the care of Count Olaf - a distant "relative" they've never met.

After a short while at the Count's house, it is clear he not only has a disdain for children, but he's also after their fortune.

While the kids manage to get removed from his care, Count Olaf continues to appear wherever they are sent.

As the story develops, the orphans learn more and more about their parents' past - and it's nothing like they'd ever imagined.

Neil Patrick Harris

A familiar face on TV and on the big screen, Neil Patrick Harris is most famous for his roles in How I Met Your Mother and Gone Girl.

The American actor leads the cast of Lemony Snicket's classic, starring as the villainous Count Olaf.

His sinister character is a failed thespian who is after the orphans' enormous fortune.

Throughout the series, Count Olaf adopts a plethora of ridiculous disguises - which somehow manage to fool the adults taking care of the children.

Patrick Warburton

Known for his roles in American sitcom Seinfeld and Rules of Engagement, Patrick Warburton plays narrator Lemony Snicket in the Netflix series.

Viewers may also recognise his voice as that of Joe Swanson from Family Guy.

Lemony Snicket is the pen name for the author of the books, who is also a fictitious investigator in the story itself.

He traces the movements of the Baudelaire orphans and delves into the mystery surrounding their parents' deaths.

Malina Weissman

Malina is a 15-year-old American actress and model.

She plays Violet, the eldest of the three Baudelaire orphans.

Violet Baudelaire is a young inventor, whose ingenuity helps the trio escape from Count Olaf's clutches on several occasions.
