Las Vegas residency brought me back to life, says Adele during emotional final performance
HER Las Vegas residency may have got off to a shoddy start after she pulled the plug at the last minute.
But Adele is making sure her shows at Caesars Colosseum in Las Vegas will end with a bang — after confirming she was extending the run until November.
During an emotional final performance on Saturday, before she will return to perform in June, Adele said she felt the residency was a highlight of her career and admitted the shows — which have seen her sell more than 100million records worldwide — had given her back a purpose.
She explained: “I feel so safe in here. My life is tiny.
"I don’t really leave my house and that’s by choice.
“My life used to be massive when I was younger.

"But it is like the bigger my career has got, the more scared and anxious I have become.
“I hang out with my dogs, my son and my boyfriend, and chat away with my housekeeper.
“On Friday and Saturdays, I really look forward to coming [to Vegas] and it feels like having a night out and seeing my friends.
"It’s brought me back to life.

“I usually get butterflies and get nervous and I say a little stage prayer and cross my fingers.
“But I don’t get anxious with these shows.
"It has been the best four months of my career.”
She added: “This show has brought me so much joy. I have loved doing it.
“It has been such a wonderful surprise how much I have loved it, because I am such an anxious performer.”
Adele became emotional as she opened up about her cancellation at the start of last year, adding: “It was the worst thing I’d ever felt in my career.
“And the f***ing s**t people were saying about me. Jesus Christ.
"People are mean. “They wanted me to f***ing die.”
Defiant Adele, who comes from Tottenham, then continued: “I came back and, as usual, I smashed it.
“That was definitely the London woman. You definitely cannot take that out of me ever.”
The Someone Like You singer also opened up about her decision to put on a residency, and revealed her relationship with American sports agent Rich Paul was a major driving factor.
Adele said: “I could not have gone on tour.
"I cannot leave this life that I am trying to build.
“The convenience of this, as selfish as it might sound, has been wonderful, because for me it’s the best of both worlds.”
To counter this, Adele has revealed she will film a special one-off show in June for fans worldwide — a move to help those who cannot afford to fly to Sin City and fork out thousands for a seat.
Sipping a glass of wine, Adele said that after her second run of gigs finishes in November, she will be stepping out of the spotlight.
She added: “I am going have a break and you won’t really hear from me.
“Because you know what, I am like — I am an absolute recluse.”

ED SHEERAN is on course to knock Miley Cyrus off the No1 spot on Friday with his new single Eyes Closed.
The singer is heading for his 14th chart-topper with the emotional track, with sales and streams of the song going wild following its release last week.

BEVERLEY KNIGHT was in good company at her 50th birthday celebrations, with pals including Louise Redknapp, and Lenny Henry joining her for a sell-out concert at North London venue Lafayette last week.
And she has now revealed she thinks the secret to her lasting success has been the slow burn of her career.
The Come As You Are singer, who is also a judge on ITV’s Starstruck, said: “Everything happens when it is supposed to happen.
"Maybe if things had taken off like a rocket for me earlier, I might be a hot wreck by now. I could be ruined.
“I feel now is the best time for me and I think the nation is just beginning now to see me.”
Her 20-gig UK tour starts in Reading in October to mark her milestone birthday – so the nation really will get a good chance of seeing her.
NOEL DISHES ON DIVORCE IN NEW HIT
NOEL GALLAGHER alludes to the breakdown of his marriage in his emotional new single Dead To The World.
I told in January how the singer had split from wife Sara McDonald after 22 years together and now he has poured his heart out in the song.
On the track, which he wrote alone, Noel sings: “It’s time to let go, I’m bent over backwards, I’m so tired.
"Let these be my last words: If love ain’t enough to make it alright, leave me dead to the world.”
The track will feature on his band High Flying Birds’ next album Council Skies which will be out on June 2.
While he clearly went through a tough time, he seems to be in a better place now.
I revealed earlier this month how he has been on dates with Danish author Dorothea Gundtoft.
Some TLC ought to make his next project a little more chirpy.

SELF ESTEEM is quickly becoming a huge star.
And in return she’s attracting plenty to her shows.
On Saturday, I spotted Charlie Heaton from Stranger Things as well as Ted Lasso actor Phil Dunster in the crowd at the Hammersmith Apollo.
RICKY: MY BOOZING HURT FANS
RICKY WILSON says he has kicked boozing before gigs after fearing he’d failed his fans.
The Kaiser Chiefs frontman issued an apology in November after revellers at a gig in London accused of him of being drunk.
He said at the time: “I made a mistake . . . and relied on old drinking habits.
"It’s a mistake that disappointed many of you, and some of those closest to me.
"I’m doing everything that Is necessary not to let that happen again.”
In an exclusive chat, Ricky – who has scored five Top Ten singles and two No1 albums with the group – said he’d now moved on from the incident.
He said: “I don’t drink before going on stage, because I don’t want to let anyone down.
"If we’d come up in the Nineties I’d be on a yacht or dead. But instead its seaweed supplements.”
The group will mark the 20th anniversary of Oh My God, the first single from their debut album Employment, next May – something Ricky said he still couldn’t fathom.
The Virgin Radio host added: “I always thought I wouldn’t want to do that, but yeah we will mark it if that’s what people want.”
While Ricky has been busy in the studio, he said there’s a dream job now on his bucket list.
After finishing as a runner-up on the last series of The Masked Singer, he said he now wanted to join as a judge.

Ricky said: “It must be the easiest job because you’re not upsetting anyone by sending them home.”
