Michael McIntyre fans are only just realising the comic has a VERY famous sister-in-law
COMEDIAN Michael McIntyre has earned a legion of fans with his caustic skits on stage over the years.
But fans knew little of his personal life outside of his funny anecdotes of his wife and children - until now that is.
It turns out that the 47 year old star is the brother-in-law of the Young Sherlock Holmes star Sophie Ward.
His wife Kitty, who is the daughter of the late film star Simon Ward, is an aromatherapist and the couple share two children together.
They married in 2003 despite efforts by his grandmother to split them up as she was not happy about his romantic union.
Speaking about his rocky relationship, he once said: "Unfortunately my grandma didn’t really like it when I got a girlfriend."

He added during a chat on Desert Island Disks: "She was trying to break us up which was funny for a while but then it became quite vicious, an untenable situation.”
When the couple first met, Kitty was uninterested in the comic, who is now worth an estimated £75million thanks to a number of deals including Netflix.
He once wrote in his autobiography, Life and Laughing: "She was the girl I had been looking for. In the romantic comedy that was my life, this would have made a good ending."
He added: "We would fall happily ever after. Within moments of seeing her and chatting to her I was totally up for that ending. Unfortunately, she wasn’t."
