Jungle wimp Paul Burrell reminisces about ‘the taste of raw kangaroo testicles’ and claims I’m A Celebrity contestants need to toughen up
WHEN Princess Diana's former butler Paul Burrell appeared on I'm A Celebrity in 2004, the world waited with bated breath for how he'd react to the creepy crawlies and gruelling Bushtucker Trials.
And he didn't disappoint, with some hilarious reactions.
Now, the 58-year-old star has reminisced on the moment he had to eat "raw kangaroo testicles", admitting this year's contestants will need to "toughen up" to manage.
Speaking in his column for the , Paul admitted: "It has been 12 years since I faced my last bushtucker trial but I can still taste those raw kangaroo testicles and can still hear Janet Street Porter's voice screeching at me across the jungle camp fire.
"It is bigger, more fierce and more competitive than ever."
The star admitted it's immediately obvious to the public who is acting, and who is genuinely scared, drawing on his own experiences in camp.
The launch show of this year's I'm a Celeb series saw celebrities including Carol Vorderman and Joel Dommett walk a plank on top of a 10 storey skyscraper in Australia.
And while Paul admitted he's not sure he could have managed it, he added: "In my year, Brian Harvey couldn't stand the flies and quit, Natalie Appleton touched a tree and squealed... This year's personalities need to be made of stronger stuff."
Predicting how each famous face would manage, Paul pointed out that former Countdown presenter Carol is perhaps the most well known - but it's the stars not many people have heard off that tend to shine out.
Speaking about Ola Jordan, Paul joked it won't be long before she hits the jungle shower, "showing us why she is in this year's line up", while Jordan Banjo and Joel Dommett flash their enviable abs.
And while they beat the girls there, it wasn't long before professional dancer Ola stripped off too.
