As the clock struck 11 - the time when the UK falls silent to remember and pay tribute to this who lost their lives fighting for their country – Rimmer introduced a clip from a documentary showing on Channel 4 this evening.

Called Last Heroes of the Somme, it airs tonight at 7pm and tells the story of the Battle of the Somme, one of the bloodiest battles of the First World War.

But viewers believed instead if the clip being played, the show should have joined the rest of the country and fallen silent at 11am.

One wrote on Twitter, “How poor Channel 4, Sunday Brunch didn’t stop for 2 minutes silence,” while another added: “As a live show, is there any reason who you couldn’t do the 2 minutes silence?”
