Rosamund Pike angers viewers of the Graham Norton Show by not wearing a poppy on Armistice Day episode
ROSAMUND Pike angered viewers of The Graham Norton Show on Friday night by not wearing a poppy.
The Gone Girl actress was on the show to promote her new film, United Kingdom, but fans of the show were quick to notice she had failed to attach the symbol for Armistice Day like her fellow guests Chris Martin and Michael McIntyre.
Wearing a peach 70s-inspired maxi dress, the 37-year-old looked as beautiful as ever, but that did little to quash the outrage on social media over her missing poppy.
One viewer wrote on Twitter: "Rosamund Pike where is your poppy" with a series of angry face emojis, while another added: "Why isn't Rosamund Pike wearing a Poppy? #GrahamNorton".
A third wrote: "Really don't like Rosamund Pike! Plus she's not wearing a poppy!"
Graham's chat show is recorded on a Thursday, and while Rosamund filmed her appearance the day before Armistice Day, it aired on the day people all over the country pay their respect to fallen soldiers since the First World War.
While it's personal choice whether an individual wears a poppy or not, celebrities have faced criticism in the past for opting out.

Last year, Sienna Miller was heavily criticised for not wearing one of the red flowers during her own appearance on the Graham Norton Show and it seemed like Rosamund was facing a similar kind of wrath.
One Twitter user wrote: "Rosamund Pike really hasn't won me over today. She's turning out to be a real bore and where is her poppy? Won't be seeing her film."
Another viewer shared a snap of Sienna from last year and captioned it: "doesn't look like Rosamund Pike is wearing a poppy on Graham Norton tonight HERE WE GO AGAIN".
A third viewer also referred to Sienna's faux pas, writing: "I bet Sienna Miller is thinking 'someone have a go at Rosamund Pike". She got caned for not wearing a poppy last year. Fair's fair!!"
One Twitter user watching called Rosamund "brave" to not wear a poppy, writing: "1st person I've seen not wearing a poppy on the bbc this week rosamund pike graham norton very brave".
But one fan of the star tried to reason why the actress was without one, saying: "Rosamund Pike on @TheGNShow with no poppy on, airing on #ArmisticeDay. Either she's oddly against it, or someone in BBC wardrobe cocked up."
Rosamund did have some support online however, with one fan writing: "People kicking off Rosamund Pike isn't wearing a poppy. You don't have to wear one to be able to remember the fallen FFS".
The Sun Online has contacted Rosamund's agent to ask why the actress wasn't wearing a poppy on the show.
