X Factor star Honey G admits to taking cocaine, ecstasy, magic mushrooms and weed after sexual assault at college led to drug addiction
Rapper reveals she smoked cannabis for an entire summer and admits taking ecstasy, cocaine and a magic mushroom
DRUG addict Honey G has admitted taking ecstasy, cocaine and a magic mushroom — and revealed she spent an entire summer smoking marijuana.
The X Factor rapper, a shock favourite to win the ITV show, says she strayed into addiction amid a host of troubling personal issues.
And she confessed in an exclusive Sun interview: “I did class A drugs.
“I’m hardcore and I’m totally real.”
Honey, real name Anna Georgette Gilford, said she began smoking marijuana as a 14-year-old schoolgirl and continued throughout her time at Salford university.
But she says her addiction developed after she was kidnapped and sexually assaulted while at the college in an episode she admits “ruined my confidence”.
She said: “I have struggled with addiction. I have nothing to hide. I did do some class A drugs like cocaine and I did pills.
“I did a magic mushroom that I will never do again — that was probably one of the worst experiences.
“The thing about me is there is actually a story behind me and my life. It’s not like, ‘Hi I’ve just turned up on X Factor’.
“I’ve been a musician my entire life and I’ve been through real experiences. I’m totally real, hardcore and I have experienced things that are real.”

Bookies Coral have reported a “surge of bets” on 35-year-old Honey — who owns an HR business — winning the X Factor.
The single rapper, from North West London, went on: “I’ve always struggled with a weed addiction.
“I don’t do it much now, only socially from time to time. I don’t like to bring it in my apartment as I don’t want to get hooked.
“There was a summer where I was going through a bit of a hard time and I ended up hanging out with people and, basically, we spent the whole time smoking weed.
“I ended up writing a song about the fact I spent that whole summer smoking pot. It isn’t a lie — basically it is actually true.”
