HBO release first trailer for Slenderman documentary

HBO have released the first trailer for their Slenderman documentary - and it's incredibly chilling.

The film delves in to the attempted murder of schoolgirl Payton Leutner, 12, who was stabbed 19 times by two pals who were convinced they needed to murder her on the orders of the internet ghoul.

She was knifed in the arms, legs and torso by schoolgirls obsessed by the chilling, child-slaying character.

Payton survived the attack after dragging herself from the woodland where she was attacked to the side of the road where she was discovered by a horrified cyclist.

The victim was left for dead in woodland but she managed to crawl to a pathway, where she was discovered covered in blood by a passing cyclist and rushed to hospital.

The 12-year-old assailants, Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier, of Waukesha, Wisconsin, have been charged as adults with attempted premeditated murder and face prison sentences of 65 years.

Since being created on the online forums Something Awful in 2009, the Slenderman has inspired a vast internet community who produce artwork, stories, videos and games about him, sharing their creations on dozens of sites.

He soon became an internet sensation, the white faceless man with tentacle-like arms and a black suit popping up in memes all over forums and featuring heavily in fan fiction on the dark web.
