Love Island’s Sophie Gradon sparks outrage with insensitive Remembrance Day tweet amid ‘stupid’ fight with ex Tom Powell
The reality TV star immediately hit back at her haters and insisted she spent her afternoon with a "lovely" veteran
LOVE Island star Sophie Gradon sparked outrage on Twitter today as she lashed out in an angry rant on Remembrance Day, asking: "What am I meant to do, tweet about soldiers all day?"
The star has been sharing a series of screenshots of texts, allegedly sent between her ex boyfriend Tom and a mystery girl, before accusing him of cheating on her.
But, as she continued to post photos following the two minute's silence earlier today, one fan tweeted: "Its Rememberance Day, and you are having a stupid fight on social media. That's one way to thank the veterans and soldiers!"
An angry Sophie quickly replied: "What am I meant to do like... Tweet about soldiers all day? I did my two minute silence. I have my poppy. Do you?"
She deleted the tweet shortly after, but not before eagle-eyed fans spotted the shock outburst.
One user even branded the star "vile", while another added: "Hopefully you both sort it out between you and not on social media! Love you both."
After deleting her initial tweet, Sophie branded the user a "f***ing idiot", before adding: "In the mood to kill a b***h."
However, she later added a photo with a veteran she had spent her afternoon with, proudly wearing his medals in the snap.
She wrote: "How dare someone reprimand me for tweeting on rememberance day (sic) when I spent part of my afternooon with this lovely chap swing it b***h."
The veteran, who was selling poppies, sparked huge love online as one of Sophie's fans asked: "Is this in Jesmond?? Sits there every day - Mass respect to him."
And she replied: "He's awesome. X."
