HOT on the heels of hit Netflix series The Crown, the Royal Family will be portrayed on screen again in one-off BBC Two drama King Charles III.
This show however isn't based on history — it takes place in an imagined future, with Prince Charles acceding to the throne after the death of the Queen.
When is King Charles III on BBC Two?
King Charles III airs on Wednesday May 10th at 9pm on BBC Two.
It goes head-to-head with a Panorama episode titled Contaminated Blood: The Search for the Truth, Heathrow: Britain's Busiest Airport on ITV and Confessions of a Junior Doctor on Channel 4.
King Charles III is a TV adaptation of the award-winning play of the same name by Doctor Foster writer Mike Bartlett, which won positive reviews for both West End and Broadway productions.
Here's what else we know about King Charles III...
What's the show about?
Chaos erupts when King Charles refuses to sign into law a controversial bill that would limit the freedom of the press.
He asks the prime minister to make changes to the bill, but the prime minister won't budge.
The PM threatens to pass a new law that would allow him to bypass royal assent, but before he can do so King Charles dissolves Parliament. Citizens riot across the country.
If the TV show is faithful to the play, both Charles and Prince William see the ghost of Princess Diana, who promises each he will be "the greatest king of all".
Meanwhile, Prince Harry will begin a new romance... not with an American actress named Meghan Markle, but with a British republican named Jess Edwards, who is at the centre of a sex scandal in the press.
Who is in the cast?
Tim Pigott-Smith, who played King Charles III onstage, reprises his role for the TV show.
The Downton Abbey star died on April 7 aged 70 - King Charles III was his final role.
Tim said it was important that the play be adapted for TV, saying: "It is a drama about us, now, who we are, and the relevance of our monarchy.
"Television gives it an important democratic voice."
He'll be joined by several other members from the stage version, including Oliver Chris as Prince William, Richard Goulding as Prince Harry, Margot Leicester as Camilla and Adam James as the UK prime minister.
The role of Kate Middleton will be played by Peaky Blinders actress Charlotte Riley.
Charlotte said she was excited about portraying the Duchess, adding: "It's such a unique project. To be both modern and rich in verse and to play someone who is real but yet totally reimagined for this story is an exciting prospect for an actor.
"Kate Middleton is a really interesting woman, particularly within the context of this play, and it is a challenge I am really looking forward to."
The BBC has also confirmed that actresses Priyanga Burford and Tamara Lawrance have been cast, but hasn't specified their roles. Could one of them play Harry's girlfriend?
Who is the director?
Olivier Award winner and Tony Award nominee Rupert Goold, who directed the original Almeida Theatre play, has also directed the television adaptation.
Rupert is currently artistic director of the Almeida and has previously held the same position at the Royal and Derngate Theatres in Northampton.
He has been an associate director at the Royal Shakespeare Company since 2010 and directed many of the UK's greatest stage stars including Patrick Stewart.
